CARA WILSON comes to the studio with over two decades of experience teaching music to groups and individuals. A native of New Mexico and product of the skilled pedagogy of Susan Kempter, Wilson moved to Minnesota to study violin at St. Olaf College with Charles Gray and at the University of Minnesota with Sally O’Reilly. Her teaching philosophy centers on preparing students to take their music wherever it interests them, holding them to high standards in order to develop the ability to wield this expressive language with facility and skill. Wilson has been fortunate to perform with visiting artists such as Josh Groban and Michael Buble, local arts organizations Cantus and the Schubert Club, composers Jocelyn Hagen and Edie Hill, and has played more cantatas, concerts, weddings, and services than she can count. Wilson is a founding member of the horn trio, Mélange a Trois, and half of the duo Lady Date.
